Blackberries

He drove as fast as he could to get me to the spot where I love taking my sunset shots.  He couldn’t find me at first, thinking that I was in the front yard of the house, snapping away already.

I climbed inside his truck bed and took as many pictures as I could, storing away the rest in my head to linger over during the cold grey days of winter.

Afterwards, we drove around the dirt roads and explored.

In doing so, we found blackberry thickets, loaded down with berries.

He was barefoot, so I hopped out in my flip flops and picked berries till my hands were full, finally grabbing his baseball cap that he keeps in his truck and filling that up with blackberries.

We felt like little kids as we drove home in the dark.
