All right, let’s try another go at putting up a video.
This time it features Langley, the Wonder Dog. Joey and I loaded up the dog, packed the GoPro camera, my D7000, a couple of water bottles and hit our local lake this past Friday (Meghan was busy watching “Rock of Ages” with her best friend, otherwise we would’ve dragged her out to the lake with us).
Joey cracks me up, he really does. He and I spent all afternoon talking video making and photography, Aperture 3 and MicroSoft Windows video editing. Neither one of us fully understood what the other was babbling on about (at least I didn’t), but it was a joy to me to watch his face come alive when he talked about his hobby. He has a great eye for photography, but he insists that he just doesn’t “get” it.
That’s okay, I don’t “get” video making, so that makes us even, I suppose. And just the fact that neither one of us “gets” what the other one loves so much is just fine in my book.
So without further ado, let’s see if this video will work.

Hope you enjoy it!

So cool! What a great idea! My oldest son has his degree in communications (film/television). I’m going to send him this link…I think he’ll get a kick out of it.
Joey will be thrilled! : )
Yea… it worked! I had a really hard time hearing Joey at the beginning of the video, but could hear him, somewhat, at the end. Had no problem hearing Langley’s splash and shake. Speak up Joey, I’m a fan… and you sure have grown, too!
Oh good, glad it worked for you. As far as Joey’s voice, that’s partly because of the camera, and he also has a soft voice to begin with. Wish you could’ve seen his face when he read your comment—a little grin spread from ear to ear. ; )
It worked fine, Kate, and what a great video!!
Good job Joey and Langley!!
Ah good—glad you liked it!
Good job, Joey. I can never decide which I love better photography or video. Do remember there is editing where you actually cut out parts and add voice overs etc. I love the sounds and sights of going under water with Langley. A very commendable first project! :D
He was pretty excited about doing it, but personally, I prefer photography: I can’t stand seeing or hearing myself on tape!
I can’t stand seeing or hearing me either, but do have great fun with others or doing a silly movie for the little grandkids. I’m the videographer and the editor only. Not in the event! There are very few photos of me. I’ve always been the one with the camera. It’s my best look!
Very cool! I didn’t know they had cameras like that! This is a really good idea for a YouTube series. I’d love to see more daily activities from Langely’s point of view.
Joey really has a fun time making these movies, and Langley is a good sport to put up with it all.
Soooo sweet!
She is a sweetie pie, spoiled as all get out!
