The look delicious!! I always make friends with gardens!! LOL… I love fresh tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, and buffalo mozzarella with some balsamic vinegar… mmmm.
We had a beautiful pumpkin patch going and sweet peas, but between the squash bugs and the horrible heat and drought we’ve had all summer, they’re long gone. BUT we did salvage one pumpkin which is now sitting in our mud room waiting for Halloween. Hopefully next summer will be kinder to us.
Excellent!!! My father always has a little garden, and he loves to make hot sauce (using canning process). However, as he gets older the heartburn really gets to him. Nonetheless, he loves to GARDEN!!!
These look wonderful Kate.
The tomatoes here are doing really well too, as well as the blueberries.
Definitely against all odds with this hot dry summer, but they’ve continued to thrive.
My dad had at least three gardens that he took care of when I was growing up, and after he got through teaching classes in the summer, I’d join him as he would “go check on the tomatoes” in our backyard in the evenings. Those were really special times, and I guess his gardening wore off on me. Now we’ll race to see who has the first red tomato each summer. He always wins, but I think he cheats a little because he plants them before I do, and he buys plants that already have flowers on them! ; )
Cute little things!
Oh, and they’re so, so good straight off the vine! : )
